Skepta | Levi's® Music Project

[LEVI'S] The Levi’s Music Project supports music education by providing access to educational programs, community resources, and industry-leading professionals to youth. In 2016, Levi’s tasked LoveLive with positioning the brand firmly at the center of culture and expanding the project worldwide. 

In response, LoveLive devised a content-led music activation across the UK, Germany, and France centered on Skepta, whose fourth studio album, Konnichiwa, is one of 2016's most acclaimed releases. Through the series, Skepta journeyed back to his hometown in North London to establish a Community Music Space, providing access to music for the local youth.

For this Vevo Originals series, we followed 50 Cent and Ne-Yo to discover how music and fitness have shaped their entrepreneurial careers. We also spun the concept on its head to capture basketball star Karl-Anthony Towns for his take on music and sports. 

The short films each garnered multi-million views in their first day of release and continue to engage audiences.

Across the series, Rudimental, Foals, Lady Leshurr, and Lianne La Havas shared the myriad ways music is more interesting when not limited by boundaries — a concept John Hammond held dear, well before this belief was the norm.

Spotify The Line Jump, The Chainsmokers (Seattle)

[SPOTIFY ORIGINAL] When Spotify announced the addition of video to its already robust mobile music offerings, they wanted to go one step further than licensed content to create its own channel of shows. To execute on this promise, Spotify teamed up with LoveLive to ideate original programming centered on artists that would draw a new audience to the service. 

One such show is The Line Jump, a series that charts what happens when fans waiting in line for a concert are given the chance to hang with their favorite artist. The premier season paired artists and their fans with activities for social good, including building an educational music program at an underserved public school in Austin.

In Chicago, folk rockers Bear’s Den settled into a sky-scraping loft apartment for three full-song performances and an interview. We then headed to Nashville for two episodes: one intimate session with rising country star Maren Morris and a city-wide block party where Sam Hunt celebrated the one-year anniversary of his breakthrough album, Montevallo, in the city he calls home.

[VEVO + HULU] Best-of lists are as prevalent in December as Christmas carols. In 2015, Vevo stood out from the rest with a real life best-of list, developed in partnership with Hulu. 

Over a span of 3 days in NYC, Vevo brought the year’s best music videos to life with immersive installations and exclusive live performances from some of the year’s most talked about acts, including The Weeknd, J Balvin, The Chainsmokers, SIlentó, Jidenna, Cam, and Tori Kelly.

In less than a month, the videos racked up over 8 million views on Vevo alone.
